ΔΗΛΩΣΗ ΔΗΜΑΡΧΟΥ ΓΙΑ ΤΗΝ ΕΚΤΑΦΗ ΤΩΝ ΠΕΣΟΝΤΩΝ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΛΒΑΝΙΑ

ΔΗΛΩΣΗ ΔΗΜΑΡΧΟΥ ΓΙΑ ΤΗΝ ΕΚΤΑΦΗ ΤΩΝ ΠΕΣΟΝΤΩΝ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΛΒΑΝΙΑ

Με αφορμή την έναρξη εκταφής των Ελλήνων πεσόντων στην Αλβανία, ο Δήμαρχος Πωγωνίου κ. Κων/νος Καψάλης έκανε την ακόλουθη δήλωση:

«Εκφράζουμε τη συγκίνηση και ικανοποίησή μας για την έναρξη εκταφής των Ελλήνων φαντάρων, πεσόντων του 1940. Η χώρα μας, με καθυστέρηση επτά δεκαετιών κάνει επιτέλους το καθήκον και το χρέος της τόσο απέναντι στις οικογένειες των πεσόντων όσο και απέναντι στην ιστορία.

Τα οστά των πρόχειρα ενταφιασμένων, σε χωράφια και βουνά της Αλβανίας φαντάρων, θα ταυτοποιηθούν και στη συνέχεια θα ενταφιαστούν με την τιμή που τους αρμόζει σε νεκροταφεία στους Βουλιαράτες και την Κλεισούρα.

Οφείλουμε το δέοντα σεβασμό στους Έλληνες πεσόντες και εκφράζουμε τη συμπαράστασή μας στις οικογένειες που επί 77 χρόνια δεν είχαν την δυνατότητα να προσκυνήσουν τον τάφο των αγαπημένων τους προσώπων. Ως χώρα οφείλουμε παράλληλα να εκφράσουμε τις ευχαριστίες μας σε όσους φρόντιζαν τάφους πεσόντων θέτοντας σε κίνδυνο την ίδια τους τη ζωή.

Πρόκειται για μία σημαντική στιγμή που θα πρέπει να συνδυαστεί με την ανάδειξη των ιστορικών στοιχείων από την πλευρά μας και τη δημιουργία κενοταφίου στην χώρα μας για τη μνημόνευση των πεσόντων. Ο Δήμος Πωγωνίου έχει ήδη παραχωρήσει έκταση 20 στρεμμάτων γι’ αυτό το σκοπό και έχει καταρτίσει σχέδιο για την ανάδειξη των πεδίων μαχών».
