Χαράδρα Καταράκτη

Μεταξύ των χωριών Ριαχόβου- Καταρράκτη- Λιθίνου, αναπτύσσεται ένα απότομο φαράγγι μήκους περίπου 9 χιλιομέτρων και βάθος που ξεπερνά τα 250μ. Στην αρχή της χαράδρας, βόρεια του χωριού Καταρράκτης, ο ποταμός Καλαμάς δημιουργεί αλλεπάλληλους καταρράκτες με τον μεγαλύτερο να φτάνει το βάθος των 30μ. Στην συνέχεια της διαδρομής του ποταμού αναπτύσσεται μικρότερος καταρράκτης μετά την πεζογέφυρα και προς το μέσο, η κοίτη στενεύει πολύ μέχρις ότου το νερό χάνεται και διέρχεται υπόγεια. Ο χώρος είναι απροσπέλαστος.

Η κατά μήκος κλίση της κοίτης, η οποία στενεύει και ξανανοίγει δημιουργεί με την τριβή του νερού μεγάλο φύσημα που μεταφέρεται στα υψηλότερα. Το τοπίο είναι εντυπωσιακό με τα απότομα βράχια να απλώνονται παντού και το νερό να κατακρεμνίζεται κάτω από 30μ. περίπου. Οι βραχώδης κατακόρυφες εξάρσεις της χαράδρας, καλυμμένες με πυκνή βλάστηση αποτελούν ένα σημαντικό αισθητικό στοιχείο της περιοχής καθώς και ενδείκνυται για σπάνια είδη ορνιθοπανίδας. Η βοή του ποταμού που κυλάει στο στένωμα χαμηλά στην χαράδρα μέσα σε υδροχαρή βλάστηση εντείνει το δέος και τον θαυμασμό για το φυσικό τοπίο.
