Παλιογκρίμπιανη

 Ανεβαίνοντας το βουνό Κασιδιάρης, πολύ πάνω από τον συνοικισμό της Παϊδονιάς, βρίσκεται η Παλιογκρίμπιανη. Από τους αρχαιότερους οικισμούς, που αναφέρεται σε μεσαιωνικά και παλιότερα κείμενα ως Βριβία, Βρεβία ή Βρίμπιανη. Ο Αραβαντινός τοποθετούσε εδώ την γνωστή αρχαία ηπειρωτική πόλη Τράμπυα.

Σύμφωνα με τον κ. Λαμπρίδη «το κάστρο της Παλιογκρίμπιανης πάνω σε λόφο, Καστρί λεγόμενο, όπου και χνάρια αρχαίου οικισμού και τοιαύτα Βυζαντιακού ισχύν και πολυανθρωπία μαρτυρούντα». Κοντά του, κάτω από τον μεγάλο βράχο, το εκκλησάκι της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής. Στο σημείο αυτό σε υψόμετρο 1.100 μέτρα, μέσα σε εσοχή του μεγάλου βράχου πριν από πολλά χρόνια κάποιος ντόπιος έπειτα από όνειρο βρήκε την πολύτιμη εικόνα της Παναγίας της επονομαζόμενης Σπηλιώτισσας.

Η Παναγία η Σπηλιώτισσα είναι θαυματουργή και πολλοί προσκυνητές από δω αλλά κι από τις γειτονικές επαρχίες συρρέουν να την προσκυνήσουν χρόνια τώρα. Από τις διηγήσεις των ντόπιων έχει κάνει πολλά θαύματα και έχουν γίνει πολλές έντυπες αναφορές γι αυτήν.

Το έθιμο θέλει, την Παρασκευή μετά το Πάσχα μια γυναίκα να μεταφέρει την εικόνα ξυπόλητη από την κεντρική εκκλησία της Νέας Γκρίμπιανης, (ή όπως λέγεται σήμερα Αρετής) ως την εκκλησία της Ζωοδόχου Πηγής, στην φυσική της θέση. Από εκεί άλλες γυναίκες μεταφέρουν την εικόνα μετά από πεζοπορία, στην εκκλησία του Αγίου Νικολάου που ήταν η κεντρική εκκλησία της ακατοίκητης πλέον Παλιογκρίμπινης. Εκεί γίνεται και το πανηγύρι με κάθε χρόνο πάνω από 150 χρόνια τώρα, στο οποίο παλιά έπαιρναν μέρος οι ξένοι και από τους χωριανούς ένας από κάθε σπίτι. Μετά το γεύμα ακολουθεί περιφορά δίσκου της Εκκλησίας με την εικόνα της Παναγίας μπροστά συνοδεία λαϊκών οργάνων και στην συνέχεια στήνεται χορός που παλαιά ήταν εφτάδιπλος και βάσταγε ως το βράδυ.
